Philip Kolvin QC is a specialist licensing barrister, and the Head of Cornerstone Barristers, a leading chambers practising in the fields of planning, property, licensing, housing and public law. His clients include leading operators in all his fields of practise, including pub and nightclub operators, supermarkets, festival promoters, sexual entertainment venue operators and Uber. He also acts for national regulators the Security Industry Authority and the Gambling Commission. Philip is the Patron of the Institute of Licensing, a Board Member of the Sports Grounds Safety Authority and the Crystal Palace Park Trust, a member of the advisory board of the Otherworld Museum Lates Festival. He is the past Chair of the Night Time Commission for London, the Institute of Licensing, Best Bar None, Purple Flag and the Civic Trust. He is widely published in the field of licensing and public law, having written the Mayor’s Vision for London’s Night Time Economy, and authored or edited books on premises licensing, gambling and sex licensing, anti-social behaviour and councillors’ conduct. He sits as a Recorder of the Crown Court.
